Body scrub is a mixture of emollient and abrasive particles which is rubbed onto the surface of the skin in order to exfoliate dead skin cells. The emollient used in body scrub is typically a gentle cleanser or moisturizer which offsets the abrasive particles -- anything from tiny plastic beads to pieces of oatmeal. Body scrubs vary in their level of abrasiveness, which is usually indicated on the packaging. They may also contain natural ingredients, such as apricot, corn, olives, Shea butter, chamomile, aloe, and various herbs. Body scrub can be purchased for as little as a few dollars at most retail locations that sell cosmetics and skin care products, as well as spas and drugstores.
A body wrap is a spa treatment experience and can also be called a body ‘cocoon’. It begins with some kind of exfoliation, which is a fancy word that means removing dead skin cells. Usually, a spa therapist will use a high quality scrub to make sure the exfoliation is as efficient as possible. The spa therapist will then apply oils and ingredients to the body, depending on the wrap. Afterwards, they may wrap you in plastic, blankets or bandages. As you can imagine, body wraps aren’t for those of us who are claustrophobic. But there are many excellent benefits to body wraps that can make this spa treatment appealing.
Everyone suffers the effects of ageing over time, and no one should have to settle for a face that doesn’t fully express their joie de vivre and love of life. In truth, the male and female face does not age particularly different over time, and the psychological effects this can have on our feelings are the same. Men are fortunate that the natural decline of collagen over the years is a little slower than for women. However, the ‘settling’ of the face, so characteristic of increased years, is the same between both sexes. This results in the deepening of the facial tear troughs, as well as ‘sinking’ throughout the mid-face. The culprit here is loss of subcutaneous facial fat. The delicate tissues of the lips and eyes show this loss first. Paired with a loss of elasticity in the skin, this results in the characteristic signs of ageing we are all familiar with. Try our treatment special for men!

Gold facials can differ from spa to spa, but generally they follow a traditional facial format—cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, etc.—but include one of the most decadent add-ons ever invented: a gold face mask. Depending on the technique used, this might involve the aesthetician massaging sheets of 24-karat gold leaf onto your skin. Or, they might coat your face with colloidal gold, a liquid solution with gold nanoparticles suspended in it. If this whole idea seems to have trended rather suddenly, there's good reason for that. The gold facial has grown in popularity since 2006, when a Japanese company pioneered a method for helping the metal penetrate surface layers of skin.
